Introduction – A Conversation With You
My name is Jeffrey Parkhurst and I have been in and around the litigation support industry for a long time (far longer than I will admit to publicly!). I have done time in a large legal government agency, been a software entrepreneur, provided services as a vendor and been a client of these services. While I like to think that I am a litigation support expert, I recognize that what I really have is expertise in a number of areas; which is an important distinction when deciding to write for a lit support community with so much cumulative experience.
What is in it for you
This is where you will find interesting and timely information on technology and tools that will improve the delivery of litigation services to your clients. I want to provide my perspective and experiences with you in order to kick start a dialogue with other members of our esteemed community, which benefits us all. There is a lot of collective knowledge and experience out there that can be shared, making each of our professional lives better and providing improved services to our clients. Our focus as a company is on providing consulting service and expertise to firms without the capabilities to evaluate and perform this work in house. Creating a place to have an ongoing conversation with other litigation support providers should sharpen that focus for all.
Topics to be Covered
This space will be about technology, tools, legal rulings and trends that impact the Litigation Support industry. My goal is to provide a forum for discussions about legal issues and problems that we all run across. Depending on the interest of followers, over time this discussion may include areas such as:
• The management of e-discovery projects
• How to utilize consultants to obtain the best results
• The impact of rule changes in FRE and FRCP
• Document review strategies
• Professionalization of search experts
• The increased use of hyperlinked electronic document navigation in filing documents with the court.
